One of Indonesia's largest integrated resources companies, Indika Energy, is looking to take a 40% stake in Nusantara Resources' two million ounce Awak Mas gold project in Indonesia, virtually clearing a pathway for the mine to be built. Indika plans to invest up to AUD$58m in Nusantara's wholly-owned subsidiary, PT Masmindo DWI Area to secure its 40% share in the proposed gold mine.

Nusantara Resources has appointed a new CEO to fast-track the development of its Awak Mas gold project in Indonesia. Mining veteran Neil Whitaker has joined the company in a Jakarta-based role, where he will utilise his expertise in the Asia-Pacific region to drive the project forward. Mr Whitaker previously worked as the COO for PT Petrosea Tbk, a subsidiary of the company's strategic partner in Indonesia, Indika Energy.

Indonesia focussed gold developer, Nusantara Resources, has increased its confidence in the potential for a grade uplift to be realised once its Awak Mas gold project on the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia, is in production. Trenches dug across an exploration bench have demonstrated additional high-grade structures that were not captured by ore reserve drilling and related block models.

Nusantara Resources is forging closer ties with strategic partner Indika Energy to hasten the development of its Awak Mas gold project in Indonesia and has appointed Greg Foulis as its Executive Chairman. The company will also build a development team in Indonesia with the technical capabilities to move the project forward whilst continuing to engage with potential banks to provide project financing.
