Gordon Trewern is widely involved with disability sector issues, sitting on state and national committees in the government and the non-government arenas. Of particular note, is his current position on the National Disability Services Board and involvement in the recent State Government NGO procurement reforms.

Gordon joined Nulsen in 1982 as a support worker. He was appointed coordinator of accommodation services in 1989 and CEO in 1994.
