Aruma Resources has kicked off ground gravity and induced-polarisation geophysical surveys at its Fiery Creek project near Mount Isa in Queensland to test areas of outcropping copper and identify drill targets. The detailed geophysics are part of Aruma's new mission to acquire data of sufficient quality and resolution to enable prospect-scale drill-targeting, which had not been possible with previous geophysical data over the area.

A surface sampling program at the project has revealed high-grade copper assays alongside significant grades of up to 1 per cent antimony, which is currently a hot commodity on the ASX.

Aruma Resources has acquired three new projects featuring copper and uranium in South Australia and Queensland, adding to the company's three-project rare earths and lithium portfolio in Western Australia. The new projects include the Wilan iron oxide-copper-gold-uranium project on SA's Olympic Dam doorstep and the Queensland-based Fiery Creek copper play and Bortala copper operation that both sit within the State's Mt Isa region.

Aruma Resources has identified high-grade surface sample assays grading up to 36 per cent copper in data acquired from previous explorers in the company's Fiery Creek copper project near Mt Isa in Queensland. The results come from surface rock chip sampling programs carried out across multiple prospects by previous explorers at Fiery Creek which include Sumitomo, Anglo American and MIM (now Glencore).

Aruma Resources has wasted little time in firming up confidence at its new Bortala project in the Mount Isa Copper Belt after an initial appraisal at the site confirmed some promising copper-gold targets. The acquisition revealed only in late May was part of what management described as potentially “company-changing” gains of two copper operations in Queensland and a highly-prospective IOCG and uranium play in SA.

Aruma Resources appears to have landed a decent fish after nailing higher-grade rare earths drill hits and samples at its Salmon Gums project, about 200km south of the regional town of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia's Eastern Goldfields. The company says one surface sample produced the highest recorded rare earths grade to date in the emerging Esperance ionic clay region.

Aruma Resources is putting its shoulder to the wheel to expand the gold and rare earths footprint at its Salmon Gums project in Western Australia's Eastern Goldfields region after completing a 63-hole air-core drilling program. Assay highlights returned a 5.9m intercept grading 10.5 grams per tonne gold from 38.4m, including 2.6m going 9.85g/t gold from 38.4m and 0.85m at an impressive 40.9g/t gold from 43.4m.

The company's latest results have returned high-grade manganese peaking at 40 per cent, in addition to anomalous vanadium, uranium, iron, lead and zinc tipping into the melting pot of previously-reported anomalous copper, cobalt and rare earths.

Results have reaffirmed the potential for the area to host unconformity heavy rare earths and highlighted the prospectivity for base metals deposits along an interpreted 80km strike length of prospective host rocks.

Aruma Resources is hunting for unconformity-related rare earths at its Saltwater project in WA's emerging Pilbara province. Fieldwork will consist of detailed mapping and extensive surface sampling through an 80km prospective strike, with work to start at a 15km-long priority radiometric target. Previous results of up to 11 per cent rare earths at the project will give Aruma confidence it could have the real deal.

Aruma Resources has unearthed a new “Rose” prospect, not far from its Thistle target, following a reverse-circulation drill campaign at its Salmon Gums gold project in Western Australia's Eastern Goldfields region. The Rose target was highlighted on the back of positive results that include 1m at 2.3 grams per tonne gold from 27m. The new discovery sits between the company's Thistle and Iris prospects.

Aruma Resources has produced lithium concentrate from early metallurgical testwork at its Mt Deans project, 10km from Norseman in WA. Floatation has recovered 80 per cent of the lithium into 25 per cent of the mass with capture of tantalum, tin, potassium, rubidium and caesium giving the prospect of valuable additional by-products. Further testwork is to be undertaken with fresh outcropping pegmatite samples.
