George Gelavis has a background in starting and running companies, with significant past experience in ASX-listed entities in the telecommunications and recruitment fields. He co-founded Hoppr in 2016.
Mr Gelavis co-founded mobile virtual network operator B Digital in 1998 in conjunction with Australian Capital Equity. B Digital listed on the ASX in 2000 raising $80 million with Seven Network as its major shareholder.
In 2004 he established Commoditel and served as managing director. In 2006 he founded recruitment firm UltimateSkills which was vended into Total Staffing Solutions in 2009, where he beame general manager of operations and his company Starcat Investments took a 7.7% stake as part of the deal. After the TSS's merger with Humanis Group and adopting that company's name, Mr Gelavis became CEO for about 18 months ending in April 2011.
