Dr Geoff Raby AO was Australia’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, he was deputy secretary in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Between 1986 and 1991, Dr Raby was head of the economic section at the Australian Embassy in Beijing. In 2019, Dr Raby was awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to Australia-China relations through senior diplomatic roles, and to multilateral trade policy development.
