Gavin Buchanan has been the founding partner and chief financial officer of corporate advisory and financial services firm Barrenjoey Capital Partners since February 2021.
Prior to that, he spent over 13 years at Challenger and held various executive roles including as deputy chief financial officer & group treasurer, head of mortgage investments and head of asset finance. Mr Buchanan was also the director and head of financial institutions at Barclays Capital in Australia, and chief executive of Australian Mortgage Securities (a member of the Wizard Home Loans group) which was the Australia’s largest issuer of residential mortgage backed securities at that time. He had also held senior roles at UBS and Citigroup, in the area of securitisation.
Mr Buchanan holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws, and qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW.
