Gary Phillips has over 30 years of operational management experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry within Europe, Asia and Australia.
From 1994 to 1998, Mr Phillips was chief executive of Ciba Geigy in Hungary (merged to form Novartis in 1996) where he led the launch of a portfolio of new products. After a period of 3 years as an area manager for Novartis where he was responsible for 9 countries in Asia Pacific, he joined Novartis Australia in 2001 as group company head and chief executive of its pharmaceutical division, launching oncology and ophthalmology products. Mr Phillips then joined ASX-listed Pharmaxis in December 2003 as a commercial director before becoming chief operating officer in June 2008, and has been its chief executive since March 2013.
