​Gaelan Cooney became managing partner of Ashurst's Perth office in June 2019 having been a partner of the banking and finance group since 2011.

Mr Cooney has extensive banking and finance experience practising in the areas of project, corporate, leveraged, property and asset finance. He acts for borrowers and lenders, with a particular focus acting for sponsors on project financings within the energy and resources sectors.
