She is also a published author in the areas of operational risk, contractor management and leadership.

Her career has focused on work within high-risk operations, across the oil & gas, mining and chemical industries, leading transformations for organisations such as Shell, DuPont, Viva Energy and Ausgrid.

Ms Murfitt holds a Masters in Risk & Technology from Swinburne University, a Bachelor of Business (Economics/Marketing/Law); and certifications in WHS, Auditing, Training & Assessment, Six Sigma, Incident Investigation and Change & Transformation.
