Duncan Gibbs
Chief Executive, Managing Director / Gold Road Resources
Duncan Gibbs has a long and distinguished career in mining. He was general manager of leading global gold producer AngloGold Ashanti’s Sunrise Dam and Tropicana gold mines. Early in his career, he was the exploration manager of AngloGold with a portfolio spanning Australia and Asia, as well as being chief mining geologist for Acacia Resources. Mr Gibbs led the exploration and resource development of Sunrise Dam through various roles including as the initial geology manager. He also led Tropicana from discovery through all study phases and construction into a world-class mine’s steady-state operation.
Mr Gibbs has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Geology, and is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
