Dr Debra Sayce has over 28 years of experience in education, gained through both independent and Catholic secondary schools in religious education, physical and health education, and biological sciences.
She held a variety of leadership positions including head of department, year coordinator, house coordinator, deputy principal, principal, and assistant director of learning and teaching.
As director of religious education at Catholic Education Western Australia for over 12.5 years, Dr Sayce was responsible for leading the religious education, faith formation, catechist and accreditation areas. She was then appointed executive director of CEWA in October 2017. Dr Sayce will leave CEWA at the end of 2023 to become the inaugural head of mission enhancement and outreach for Archdiocese Agencies at the Archdiocese of Perth,
Dr Sayce has formal qualifications in education and theology, and a Doctorate in Education in the area of leadership development from the University of Notre Dame.
