David Hughes-Owen is a civil engineer with over 30 years of experience in the water industry, including in Western Australia and in Tasmania. His experience covers the full gamut of industry operations including rural and metropolitan water source, treatment and networks, sewerage network and treatment, urban and rural drainage conveyance systems.
Mr Hughes-Owen has been the chief executive of Busselton Water since September 2023. Prior to that, he was the general manager of service delivery at TasWater for 3.5 years, and had held various senior roles at the Water Corporation over a 20-plus year tenure including as head of asset investment planning and regional manager of the great southern region and overseeing asset investment planning in the metropolitan area and for the WA regions.
