Dr David Cox practises in the areas of commercial law and litigation with a particular focus on intellectual property protection and technology asset management. He also drafts intellectual property licences and sale agreements and advise clients throughout the process of technology commercialisation on cost effective strategies to protect their intellectual assets.
Dr Cox advises clients on all facets of privacy, confidential information, patents, trademarks and branding (registered and unregistered), copyright, design and plant breeders rights law.
He is convenor of the Law Society of Western Australia's Intellectual Property committee and editor of the Intellectual Property Modules of the Lexis Nexis Commercial Practice Practical Guidance package.
Dr Cox is an honorary Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia Law School and a member of the Law Reform Commission of Western Australia. He regularly publishes articles on aspects of Intellectual Property Law.
