Darren Lockyer is an Australian television commentator and former professional rugby league footballer. During his 17-year career at the Brisbane Broncos, he captained the team for seven years from 2005 to 2011 and remains the longest serving player in its history. Mr Lockyer won four grand finals (including a Clive Churchill Medal), a World Cup with Australia, and two Golden Boot Awards for the world's best player. He was named in Queensland Rugby League's Team of the Century (1998–2007). Throughout his career, Mr Lockyer continuously engaged with the club's stakeholders, staff, members and supporters.
Since retiring from rugby league in 2011, Mr Lockyer has established himself as a sports commentator and as an ambassador for several large corporate entities.
In October 2018, he was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.
