Daniel Nugawela commenced practice as a commercial lawyer in 2016, advising on business structuring, trusts, transfer duty and capital gains tax matters, asset protection, self-managed superannuation funds and estate planning. In 2017, he moved to a boutique litigation firm in pursuit of his passion for insolvency, bankruptcy and commercial litigation, making various appearances in the Perth Magistrates Court, District Court of WA, Supreme Court of WA, and the Federal Court/Federal Circuit Court.
In November 2018, Mr Nugawela joined Murfett Legal to broaden his exposure to a variety of litigation matters. His experience is focused on complex debt recovery proceedings, judicial review applications, bankruptcy matters, construction contracts and home building contracts disputes, statutory demand set aside applications, and breach of contract matters. Mr Nugawela acted for a variety of commercial clients including liquidators, trade creditors and commercial building developers. He left Murfett Legal in September 2019 and was a litigation lawyer at Summers Legal before moving to Hall & Wilcox in February 2023.
