Chris Oorschot is a geologist with over 12 years of experience in the exploration, development and mining of Western Australian projects. His development and mining experience includes open pit and underground deposits across a range of deposit styles.
Mr Oorschot has a strong background in exploring and developing projects within complex stratigraphic environments and structurally controlled mineralised systems. He also has significant experience in the development of geological models with a focus on assessing and communicating both geological and economic risk.
Prior to becoming exploration manager of Caprice Resources in April 2021, Mr Oorschot was the exploration manager of Dacian Gold where he oversaw the restructuring of its mineral resources and ore reserves, led the geological due diligence for numerous strategic opportunities,. and the implementation of revised targeting & exploration strategies. He also designed, supervised and logged over 300,000m of AC, RC and diamond drilling in exploration and production environments.
Mr Oorschot holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Geology with First Class Honours from Curtin University. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and the Society of Economic Geology.
