Catherine Tanna has more than 30 years of experience in the resources sector.
Prior to becoming managing director of EnergyAustralia from July 2014 to July 2021, Ms Tanna was a senior executive with the BG Group since 2009 and the Group’s chair in Australia since 2012.
She has extensive experience in the gas and energy sector having had various commercial roles at BHP Petroleum before joining Royal Dutch Shell where she held numerous senior positions in Australia, The Americas, Africa and Asia from 1998 to 2009.
Ms Tanna was appointed to the board of the Reserve Bank of Australia from April 2011 to March 2021. In March 2020, Ms Tanna was appointed to the board of the national COVID-19 Coordination Commission which was designed to better coordinate the efforts occurring within and between the public and private sectors following the novel coronavirus pandemic.
