Carolyn Turnbull has over 20 years of international leadership experience within the tourism and hospitality industry, including senior executive roles with Aman, Hyatt and IHG. She had also spearheaded the development of the western gateway as chief aviation development officer at Perth Airport.
Ms Turnbull joined Tourism WA in October 2020 as executive director of industry, aviation and markets where she and her team were in-charge of implementing the company's marketing strategy in Australia and its key international markets. This included working with airlines, wholesalers, retail and online agents, and other key partners to communicate WA's brand messages and increase visitors to Western Australia. The division also looks after aviation development and contracts with WA's five regional tourism organisations, Tourism Council WA and Business Events Perth. Ms Turnbull was promoted to managing director in October 2021.
