Carol Schwartz AM AO is a prominent advocate on gender equality, women’s leadership, governance, social enterprise, business and finance issues. She is an experienced company director and has extensive experience in business, property and community organisations. Ms Schwartz is a director of the Reserve Bank of Australia, board member of Qualitas Property Partners and the Australian Chamber Orchestra, chair of Our Community and Creative Partnerships Australia and Women’s Leadership Institute Australia. She established the Trawalla Foundation, which works with individuals and organisations that have a vision for the future of Australian society. Ms Schwartz was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Monash University, inducted into the Australian Property Hall of Fame, made an Honorary Life Member of the Property Council of Australia, inducted into the Victorian Women’s Honour Roll, and awarded a Monash University Fellowship in 2010 in recognition of her professional distinction and outstanding service as a member of the alumni. In 2001, Ms Schwartz received the Centenary Medal in recognition of her outstanding service as a leading business executive and committee participant. In 2006, she was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for her achievements in business and commerce, and for her contribution to community and the arts. In 2019, Ms Schwartz was awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to the community as a supporter of women in leadership roles, to social justice advocacy, and to business.
