Brett Paton entered the finance industry in 1980 and after 23 years at UBS, he retired from his role in 2008 as vice chair, having run the UBS equity capital markets business for 14 years. Following that, he was vice chair of the Institutional Clients Group for Australia and New Zealand at Citigroup for five years. During his time at UBS and Citigroup, Mr Paton's respective teams assisted and advised companies, governments and government agencies on capital raisings.
Mr Paton was a non-executive director of Tabcorp and chair of audit and risk for its demerged entity Echo Entertainment. He was also a council member of RMIT University and a foundation member of the ASX Capital Markets Advisory Panel.
