Andrew Strickland is an experienced senior executive within the resources sector. He has been involved in project development and management across a diverse range of commodities including base metals, precious metals, industrial minerals and iron ore, within Australia and across international jurisdictions. He also has a broad understanding and experience in all aspects of developing mining projects including geology, mine design optimisation and planning, infrastructure design, environment approvals, permitting, marketing, project estimation, project financial analysis and financing.
Mr Strickland has been a part of the executive leadership team at ASX-listed Blackstone Minerals since November 2020 and is responsible for project development, mergers and acquisitions, and partnership development. He has developed strong relationships throughout the battery metals supply chain sector in Australia, Canada and Southeast Asia.
Prior to that, Mr Strickland was a senior study manager for major mining services engineering group GR Engineering Services, where he was responsible for delivering scoping studies and feasibility studies for a range of Australian and international projects. He had also held a variety of business development and project development roles at several mineral resources companies including South32, Straits Resources, Perseus Mining and Tiger Resources.
Mr Strickland holds undergraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering and Extractive Metallurgy from Curtin University and the WA School of Mines, an MBA, and is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
