Alfred Chown co-founded EL Consult in 1987.

In the 1990s, Mr Chown also co-founded Dulhunty Engineering and in 1997, this company had establish Dulhunty Yangzhou Line Fittings Co Ltd. In 2003 Mr Chown was the force to merge these businesses together with Dulhunty Industries of Australia to form Energy Technologies.

Mr Chown was chair of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and has experience in Australia and Asia.
