Alec Weston has been involved in many new liquor licence applications as well as objections, disciplinary proceedings, licence transfers and Liquor Commission hearings as an associate in Lavan’s Liquor Licensing, Hospitality and Events team. He has experience in dealing with small bars, taverns, hotels, liquor stores, clubs and wet mess facilities together with a variety of other liquor licensing matters. When Mr Weston commenced employment with Lavan in 2009, he initially worked in the insurance team where he gained experience in the insurance commission, law mutual, MDA and asbestos claims.
Mr Weston also has experience in a range of employment related matters including unfair dismissals, employment contracts, union negotiation and discrimination issues.
Since leaving Lavan, he was a senior lawyer of Dwyer Durack and has been the chief operations officer of Assuro since May 2021.
