
Alan Bishop AM was the founding principal of EBM in 1975 and spent over 45 years in the insurance industry. He was national president of the National Insurance Brokers Association from 1996 to 1998, and served 15 years as director and was awarded an Honorary Fellowship. Mr Bishop steered EBM to become the largest privately-owned Australian broker and was involved in directing the insurance broking industry through some of its most turbulent times including the HIH crisis and introduction of the Financial Services Reform Act (FSRA). In 2019, Mr Bishop was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for significant services to the insurance industry and community. He is a member of the Churchlands Senior High School Foundation board.
