Perth City Farm is an urban farm on a half-hectare site, providing space & opportunities to build community connections as well as educate & enable people to live sustainably.
Established in 1994 on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement.
The Farm includes:
- a nursery which grows a wide range of vegetables, herbs and flower seedlings
- a market garden which produces nutrient-dense food in a small space using low-tech market gardening tools and the ‘Grow Biointensive’ method
- a soil centre where all organic material from the Farm’s kitchens, café, garden, and off-site prunings are turned into rich, organic compost that goes back into its gardens
- a weekend farmer's market
- the Farmology Cafe
