The Great Southern Distilling Company, founded by Cameron Syme in 2004, has distilleries in Albany and Porongurup, in Western Australia’s Great Southern Region. The Albany distillery produces the internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning Limeburners Single Malt Whisky. The Porongurup distillery makes Tiger Snake Sour Mash Whiskey, Brandy and Rum. The leading Australian gin brand of ‘Giniversity’ is made at the Margaret River Distilling Company, which Mr Syme opened in 2015.
The company was awarded the Best International Craft Whisky in the World by the American Distillers Institute for the second time: in 2017 for its Limeburners Darkest Winter and in 2020 for its Limeburners Heavy Peat.
