The City of Canning is located in Perth's south-eastern suburbs, about 10 kilometres from the Perth CBD and covers a total of 65.4 square kilometres.

It includes the suburbs of Bentley (part), Cannington, parts of Canning Vale, East Cannington, Ferndale, parts of Leeming, Lynwood, Parkwood, Queens Park, Riverton, Rossmoyne, Shelley, parts of St James, Welshpool, Willetton, and Wilson.
