Trigg Mining has revealed significant growth potential using gravity surveys at its Laverton sulphate of potash, or ‘SOP’ projects in the eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia. With two pivotal gravity surveys now complete, Trigg is now preparing for a maiden drill-program in the second half of the year.

Junior gold explorer Aurumin Limited has taken control of a 784,000 ounce gold resource through the acquisition of the Sandstone gold project from Middle Island Resources near the town of Sandstone in WA. The asset acquisition will add to Aurumin’s existing and nearby 65,000-ounce gold mineral resource base at its Johnson Range project in addition to providing a new prospective hunting ground for further discoveries.

Meeka Gold has identified two new gold targets coinciding with a 5.5km long magnetic anomaly at its Circle Valley project in Western Australia. Air core drilling has highlighted gold mineralisation over 700m and 350m of strike at two parallel shear zones. Drilling at Circle Valley also intersected saprolite clays over 20m thick similar to the high-grade rare earth clays recently discovered 3km to the east.

Calidus Resources has etched out a plethora of promising new gold targets at its Blue Spec project in the heart of the Pilbara. Stream sediment sampling has lit up three prospective targets returning values up to 326 parts per billion gold along strike from the high-grade Blue Spec project where the company is set to deliver the results of a definitive feasibility study in the coming months.

Oar Resources has grown its Douglas Canyon gold project in Nevada by more than 60 per cent, as diamond drilling recommences to test mineralisation that previously yielded gold hits at 18 grams per tonne gold and 398 parts per million silver. Legend Mining has received positive modelling results from a 3D seismic survey carried out over a 6.5 square kilometre area of its Mawson prospect within the Rockford nickel project in the Fraser Range of Western Australia. The survey was undertaken by HiSeis and has shown a clear seismic signature of the Mawson discovery zone that looks to have a repeated offset position below the main target area.

Godolphin Resources has stretched its NSW ground after picking up a brace of exploration licences from the state government’s Department of Mining, Exploration and Geoscience. The company’s new tenure spans 160 square kilometres and is prospective for gold amongst other minerals. The pick-up adds to a portfolio of projects based around the revered Lachlan Fold Belt and sits amongst the explorer’s existing projects.

The company is chasing a possible 652 million barrel of oil resource as the it follows up on its 2021 Merlin-1 discovery. Merlin-2 spudded on the 7th of March and has been drilled to 2,005 feet. The surface casing has been installed and cemented in addition to the blow out preventer being tested.

Aldoro Resources could be closer to discovering lithium after intersecting pegmatites across multiple levels at its Niobe project, about 70 kilometres from Mount Magnet in Western Australia. According to the company, the recently completed drill program punched out 65-holes and struck pegmatites in almost all of them, confirming historical results and closing the campaign on a high.

Gold-focused Classic Minerals has cleared the final hurdle in its race to develop the Kat Gap gold mine after receiving regulatory approval for its mining operations. With its mining proposal and closure plan now given the green light Classic can progress to full-scale mining. The company is continuing the mining of a 49,000-tonne bulk sample that commenced last year.

Brisbane based polymetallic explorer Superior Resources has expanded its tenement portfolio to a massive 1,158 square kilometres of prospective nickel-copper-PGE ground at its Greenvale project located around 210 kilometres west-northwest of Townsville in Queensland. ASX-listed junior explorer Twenty Seven Co is gearing up for another round of auger drilling at its Yarbu gold project located approximately 160km northeast of Southern Cross in Western Australia. The campaign is designed to hit priority targets and infill anomalies detected in last year’s exploration. It plans to sink a further 330 holes with assays expected in late May.

Kalgoorlie Gold Mining or KalGold has defined strong, continuous gold anomalism bordering the company’s La Mascotte gold prospect, part of its flagship Bulong Taurus gold project near Kalgoorlie in WA. The identified trend runs for over 2.3 kilometres and extends from the Turnpike prospect in the west through La Mascotte and continues eastward, supporting the company’s hypothesis of a large, connected gold system at Bulong Taurus.

The gold hits continue to roll in from Horizon Minerals’ Golden Ridge project near Kalgoorlie in the heart of Western Australia’s Goldfields. Results from the latest round of RC drilling have included 2 metres returning a tantalising 26.11 grams per tonne gold from 69m. The company appears to have also tapped into a nickel-rich ultramafic that lies only 8km north of the Blair nickel mine.

PolarX has expansion plans for its high-grade copper Caribou Dome deposit in Alaska. It sees potential for increasing both the average grade and tonnage of its existing resource already holding 2.8Mt of ore grading a respectable 3.1 per cent copper. The company says recently reported results have prompted a full review of the resource model and a new drilling campaign.

The Burracoppin project was historically mined in the 1930s and in some old workings produced gold grades of up to 49 g/t gold. Askari is now redefining a prospective gold corridor that looks like it could be over 3km long.

The bulk sampling is expected to run for the next six weeks.
