In this episode, host Damian Stone is joined by Philip Payne - chief executive of StudyPerth to talk about international student trends, the impact of returning Perth to the regional migration scheme, student accommodation preferences and the potential for a university campus in the Perth CBD.
Following the discussion with Philip, Damian talks to Tim Urquhart, director, properties, facilities & development for Curtin University, regarding one of the largest master planned developments in WA - the Greater Curtin plan. They talk about the development of the masterplan, key features of the plan (student accommodation, hotels, retail and collaborative office space), how the redevelopment helps Curtin attract students and the role of suburban campuses. Tim also shares how his career background in developing Olympic venues has prepared him for his work at Curtin.
