Burswood-based human services provider PeopleKind Group is set to expand its service offering on June 30 when it adds not-for-profit Cahoots to its portfolio.
Cahoots is an organisation delivering camps and recreational programs for children and young people with disability, and would continue to operate as its own entity, retaining its board, executive leadership and branding after joining PeopleKind Group late next month.
PeopleKind is the eighth biggest charitable organisation in Western Australia, according to Data and Insights, and is the current parent company of Nulsen Disability Services, allied health provider Superyou, housing provider Nesti, justice support services provider Outcare, NDIS plan coordinator Pillar, Melior Positive Behaviour Support and training centre Liift.
PeopleKind Group chief executive Gordon Trewern said the newly-announced arrangement would simultaneously diversify PeopleKind’s service offerings and create growth opportunities for Cahoots.
“Through its decades providing supportive and fun camps for Western Australian children and youth, Cahoots is well known and well respected,” Mr Trewern said.
“The organisation is a good fit with our own established services such as Nulsen and Outcare, which are established leaders in the areas which they operate.
“The Cahoots Board have recognised that our scale, combined with our values and track record, has the clear potential to provide Cahoots the organisational support to grow while remaining authentic to the vision that underpinned its creation.”
Cahoots chief executive David Armstrong said joining PeopleKind would allow Cahoots to better support families and its employees.
“PeopleKind Group was the best fit,” Mr Armstrong said.
Cahoots was a winner at Business News' WA Business Awards (formerly RISE Awards) in 2020, and was named Not-for-profit/Charity of the Year.
