The Public Transport Authority has awarded three companies more than $25 million in contracts over comprehensive maintenance work.

Belmont-based Schindler Lifts Australia won a $13.1 million contract, being one of three successful contractors in the tender for PTA’s vertical transport asset works.

Vertical transport assets include lifts, escalators and moving walkways.

Perth contractor TKElevators was awarded $10.5 million, and KONE Elevators booked a $1.7 million contract under the same tender.

Under the contracts, the PTA will engage the contractors for comprehensive maintenance services, including lift maintenance.

The PTA has not detailed which of its stations required maintenance services, with the contracts to cover work across the state.

TKElevators previously worked on the elevated walkways linking Perth Airport to a new train station, as part of the Forrestfield-Airport link, in 2019.

Schindler Lifts Australia also had worked with PTA on the lifts and escalators at Butler Railway station, which was opened in 2014.

Last month, the PTA awarded Swan Group WA a $37 million contract to design and build a new bus depot in Bayswater.
