Lamont’s and Fini Group have joined forces to open a restaurant and wine store in Nedlands, which will be chef Kate Lamont’s first new venue in more than a decade.
Dubbed Lamont’s Broadway, the new integrated restaurant and specialist wine store on 49 Broadway is expected to open in summer.
Ms Lamont will be joined by stepson Jackson Jens, who will manage the wine store, and nephew Jack Lamont, who will manage the restaurant.
A liquor licence application for Lamont’s Broadway shows the team aims to offer premium and limited-release wines with a focus on exclusive European imports and Australian producers.
The application was lodged by Lamont’s 6011 Pty Ltd, an entity registered in 2024.
Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents show Lamont’s 6011 is owned by Lamonts City, Fini Group, and Eureka Nominees, which is linked to Nic Trimboli.
Ms Lamont and Adrian Fini are listed as directors of Lamont’s 6011.
Mr Jens said Lamont's Broadway would uphold the Lamont family's reputation for wines and Western Australian produce.
"We're excited to bring the Lamont's experience to Nedlands - fresh seasonal produce, exceptional wines sourced from around the world, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere our venues are known for,” he said.
"Lamont's Broadway will be a destination for wine enthusiasts and food lovers alike, and we're looking forward to becoming part of Nedlands' vibrant hospitality strip on Broadway.”
The Lamont family opened their first winery restaurant in Swan Valley more than 35 years ago.
The family-run hospitality group has since opened and operated Lamont’s venues in Cottesloe, Smiths Beach in Yallingup, and Lamont’s Bishops House in the Perth CBD.
Lamont's Swan Valley closed in late 2024.
According to the application, a separate liquor licence will be obtained for the restaurant portion of Lamont’s Broadway.
“The dual-licence structure is a deliberate choice to adopt a lower-risk, neighbourhood-appropriate model that maintains clear regulatory boundaries between retail supply and on-premises consumption,” the application read.
“The applicant has chosen not to apply for a tavern licence for this premises — despite having experience operating under a tavern licence at Lamont's Cottesloe and Smiths Beach — as a conscious decision to adopt a model more appropriate to the Nedlands context.”
The site on 49 Broadway in Nedlands was previously occupied by the Royal Western Australian Historical Society.
The society sold the site to Broadway Properties (WA) for $2.5 million in 2024, RP data shows.
Broadway Properties (WA) is owned by Eureka Nominees and Mr Fini, according to ASIC.
