Consultancy giant KPMG has unveiled a new practice based in its Perth office, offering a dedicated Microsoft Dynamics 365 technology implementation practice.
KPMG told Business News the new arm would be headed by principal director Rudi Van Nieuwenhuizen, who will be supported initially by six Microsoft consulting practitioners.
The firm also said the team was expected to double in size in the next 12 months.
KPMG partner Mark Bowden said the new team was created to cater to a growing demand for technology implementation and integration services.
“The state’s economic fundamentals remain excellent, with higher growth and lower unemployment than the rest of the country,” he said.
“Underpinning much of our client’s strategies are the deployment of technology: a space that continues to move quickly.”
The WA Microsoft Dynamics team joins KPMG’s 200-strong Microsoft consultancy practitioners across the country and followed the firm winning the business transformation category at the Microsoft ANZ Partner Awards.
It comes the AFR reported KPMG was planning to halve the amount of consulting work done in Australia, and instead have the work performed by robots and lower-cost workers outside of Australia.
It’s understood the firm’s 2025-26 “delivery model” caused concern among the firm’s 4,000 consulting staff when presented last week, with a plan to reduce the amount of work done by Australia-based consultants from 95 per cent to 50 per cent.
