Hesperia has received a development panel's approval to build another multi-million-dollar warehouse in its Hazelmere industrial project area.
The Metro Outer Development Assessment Panel today approved Hesperia’s $33 million application to build a warehouse on 54 Lakes Road.
The proposed development comprises a warehouse with 22,230 square metres of floor space, a second warehouse with 14,940 sqm floor space, and a two-storey office.
City of Swan councillor and DAP member Jennifer Catalano was the only voter against the proposal, citing concerns over the impact to a nearby lake.
DAP deputy presiding member Dale Page said Hesperia’s proposed warehouse was an appropriate use for the site.
The two adjoining warehouses would be leased to a common tenant who is an experienced national logistics provider seeking to make the Hazelmere site its Western Australian base, according to the development application.
“Construction of the facility is scheduled to commence following receipt of necessary planning and building permit approvals,” the application reads.
“Completion and occupation of the facility is estimated to occur by late 2025.”
Hesperia’s Hazelmere Interchange project covers about 33 hectares of industrial land.
Last month, the DAP unanimously approved Hesperia’s $24 million plan to build four warehouse tenancies with office space on lots 189 and 190 Adelaide Street, within the Hazelmere industrial area.
Construction of the Adelaide Street warehouse is expected to start in early 2025.
The developer’s 10,000sqm warehouse on 160 Adelaide Street was recently completed and is available for leasing.
CouriersPlease became the first tenant to move into the Hazelmere Interchange in July, occupying a 5,300sqm facility, also on Adelaide Street.
Other projects in the Hazelmere Interchange precinct include Lindsay Transport cold store which covers 6,500sqm and 14,500sqm Weir facilities.
