Spurred on by a revenue record, the Fremantle Football Club posted a total profit of $1.85 million in 2024, up from $1.64 million a year prior.
The Dockers generated $75.1 million last season, up from $71.5 million in 2023, which included sizeable gains within their sponsorship {from $7.76 million to $8.76 million} and match revenue {from $8.26 million to $9.72 million} income streams.
Despite this, membership-based income regressed by $100,522.
“2024 will be our fourth consecutive operating profit since the launch of our 2021-25 strategic plan and as a result we have continued to build our financial position and are proud to be a financially healthy and independent club, with over $5 million in net cash reserves at the end of the 2024 financial year,” Fremantle president Chris Sutherland said.
“These funds will be critical to our success, as we continue to strategically invest in facilities, people and operations.”
In 2024, Fremantle paid around $1.22 million in royalties to the West Australian Football Commission - Western Australia's state governing body now known as WA Football - which was down from its $1.83 million contribution a year earlier.
As of October 31 2024, the club had a total equity of $20 million - comprised of $18.18 million in retained earnings, along with an additional $1.88 million in capital reserve contributions from foundation members in 1994.
From an on-field perspective in 2024, Fremantle finished in 10th position with a 12-10-1 record, falling half a game short of a spot in the finals series - while its AFLW side finished fifth and qualified for the business end of the season, before being defeated by eventual semi finalists Adelaide.
Off the field, the Dockers were also recognised as Employer of the Year at WA Business Awards 2024 {formerly RISE} in November last year.
