The state government body, designed to support small WA businesses, will welcome the Broome Chamber of Commerce and Industry boss as chair, alongside two other appointments.

Broome Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive and a winner in this year’s Business News 40under40 awards Sharni Foulkes is one of three new appointments to the Small Business Development Corporation board.
The state government body, designed to support small WA businesses, will welcome Ms Foulkes as chair, alongside business development manager Amit Khullar and business owner Adam Grizich to the board for the next three years.
Mr Khullar is director and cofounder of an app for electric vehicles users to locate and manage chargers called Wevolt Pty Ltd. He is also a member of the Ministerial Multicultural Advisory Group.
Mr Grizich is owner of a Perth independent butcher’s shop and cofounder of social enterprise Nick’s Jery, with experience in franchising.
Small Business Minister Jackie Jarvis said the new members will bring a wealth of business experience and expertise to the board.
"The SBDC has a great legacy of helping WA business owners and the addition of Sharni, Amit and Adam to the Board with their combined experience and knowledge in regional small business, new technology, multicultural communities and local business will benefit small business across WA,” Ms Jarvis said.
"Appointing board members with diverse small business expertise and experience brings renewed energy and new perspectives to SBDC, ensuring WA small businesses are supported, represented and assisted to capitalise on opportunities that are presented by the growth of our state and our nation-leading economy.
"This year, the SBDC will deliver the Cook government's Small Business Growth Grants and these additions to the board will make a valuable contribution to the successful delivery of this new program."
Ms Foulkes and Mr Khullar will begin their roles on the board on June 1 this year, while Mr Grizich will start on July 1.
