The former chief financial officer at Nicola and Andrew Forrest’s private company has launched a new business offering family office services to high-net-worth women and their families.
Bree Fraser was CFO at the Forrests’ private company Tattarang and their philanthropic arm Minderoo Foundation until May last year.
She has drawn on that experience to establish Theá Advisory.
Ms Fraser describes the business as a multi-family office, acting as the personal CFO and finance team for its clients.
The new business has come with a personal endorsement from Mrs Forrest.
“I have personally found Bree to be exceptionally trustworthy and caring,” she said.
“She is a high-calibre finance executive and an outstanding leader.”
The close links between the two women were highlighted in January, when Ms Fraser became a founding director of Mrs Forrest’s new philanthropic venture, known as Coaxial Foundation.
Ms Fraser has recruited two experienced finance executives to join her new business.
Alysha Divitini previously worked as group financial controller at Tattarang and Minderoo, while Kathrin Gerstmayr is CFO at Tony Barton’s family office and company secretary at King River Resources.
Theá Advisory’s target market is women and their families.
As well as providing CFO and financial accounting services, it will advise clients and help administer their lifestyle assets, philanthropic activities and board governance.
Theá will also coordinate services provided by other specialists such as investment advisers, tax accountants, lawyers and bankers.
“Theá will provide bespoke services in accordance with each client’s unique needs and depending on where they are in their financial journey,” Ms Fraser said.
“We are deeply passionate about financially empowering women, supporting them in aligning their financial goals with their personal purpose and values, and ultimately enabling them to fulfill their legacy.”
The firm’s female focus provides a point of difference with other multi-family offices in Perth.
These include Claremont-based Candor Family Office, led by Andrew Hector, which has been operating since 2004, initially under the name Candor Financial Management.
A newer entrant to the market is Cottesloe-based Spitfire Family Office, established by Sergio Lopes in 2019.
National players with a presence in Western Australia include Mutual Trust, which absorbed the Myer Family Office in 2017.
In addition, a growing number of ultra-wealthy Western Australians have their own family office.
These include Kerry Stokes’ Australian Capital Equity, Angela Bennett’s AMB Holdings, Laurence Escalante’s Lance East Office and Megan Wynne’s Persephone.
