

Perth Festival's Nathan Bennett will be stepping down to become chief executive of World Masters Games Perth 2029 early next year, an international multi-sport competition is held every four years for athletes over the age of 30. Mr Bennett has had eight years at the organisation and led the organisation through COVID challenges and oversaw major projects including Highway to Hell in 2020 along Canning Highway and the transformation of the East Perth Power Station.
Suzanne (Suzy) Retallack has been appointed chief people and sustainability officer at IGO, commencing September 15, following the resignation of Sam Retallack from this position. Ms Retallack was most recently chief safety and sustainability officer for Newmont Corporation, where she was also responsible for corporate affairs for Newmont Australia. She has global experience in mining, working across a range of functions including health and wellbeing, safety, environment, security, and sustainability at Newmont and Rio Tinto.
Broadcaster SCA has appointed Megan Tuckey to the newly created role of head of commercial Western Australia. Ms Tuckey brings more than 13 years of experience in direct, agency and regional sales across digital, publishing and broadcast media in the WA market. Ms Tuckey joins SCA from Seven West Media, where she worked as regional and PerthNow local sales director in WA before being promoted to sales director across agency, local and regional divisions. She also spent more than 10 years at Nine in Perth, holding senior leadership roles including group business manager and group business director.
West Australian Opera has announced the appointment of Darren Lewsen as chair, succeeding Andrew Pascoe, who retires from the board effective June 30. The company also confirmed the appointment of Emma Cundale to the board. Mr Lewsen, who has been a board director since 2017, will be the 15th chair of West Australian Opera, taking the helm as the company approaches its 60th anniversary in 2027.
Paladin Energy has appointed Paul Hemburrow as managing director and chief executive officer, effective from September 1. He has held the role of chief operating officer of Paladin since 2023. Current chief executive Ian Purdy, who has been in the role since 2020, will see through a notice period until mid-December. Mr Hemburrow comes with 30 years' operational and management experience in a range of senior executive roles within the sector.
Former Resolute Mining boss Terry Holohan has been appointed acting chief executive of Nedlands-based junior Kingsrose Mining for a period of six months. He departed Resolute Mining in January following a period of leave. Mr Holohan has extensive experience in the business of mining and project management and vast practical technical expertise in various commodities including gold, copper and nickel.
