The proposal, which recently received federal government approval, forms part of the $5 billion overhaul of the airport.

Perth Airport’s proposed new hotel has received planning approval from the federal government, marking a major milestone in the project.
The hotel, announced late last year, is set to be operated by Accor under its Pullman brand.
It forms part of the $5 billion overhaul of Perth Airport and will sit on a 4,200 square metre site within the airport’s central precinct.
Given Perth Airport is one of the 21 airports nationally that sits on Commonwealth land, approval for the project sits with federal infrastructure minister Catherine King.
Ms King approved a major development plan (MDP) for the project this month, which Perth Airport described as a key milestone for the project.
Perth Airport is still finalising the details of the contract, with no builder or construction price announced yet.
Construction of the new hotel is expected to commence next year, with completion expected in 2027.
At the time Accor was announced as the operator of the hotel, Perth Airport chief property officer Dan Sweet said the new hotel would be a “world class facility” at the front door of the airport’s major terminals.
“It will make it even more convenient for international and interstate visitors, providing a place to stay and relax during connections,” he said.
DKO Architecture designed the hotel.
The news follows the announcement that architecture studio Woods Bagot will lead a global consortium to design Perth Airport’s new terminal.
