Dr Robina Redknap has been the chief nurse and midwifery officer at the WA Department of Health since February 2019, having been a nurse director since June 2001.

Initially trained as an Enrolled Nurse, Dr Redknap completed her Registered Nurse training in 1986.

She is a Doctor of Health Science (Clinical Leadership and Management) and an Adjunct Professor with Edith Cowan University and the University of Notre Dame. Dr Redknap was inducted into the Honor Society Of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International. In March 2021, she took out one of the top prizes at ECU's distinguished alumni event for her work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Redknap has extensive experience in clinical, managerial, education and executive leadership positions. She is also active in research to improve outcomes for the people we care for and the clinicians who serve them.

Dr Redknap is passionate about ensuring nursing and midwifery has a voice at State and National levels in the development of policy and legislation that sets the strategic direction for the professions.
