Nuno Matos was appointed chief executive of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group on 12 May 2025. He has more than 30 years’ experience across retail, commercial and wholesale banking and was most recently CEO of Wealth and Personal Banking at HSBC. His prior roles also included CEO of HSBC Bank plc and HSBC Europe. Nuno joined HSBC in 2015 from Santander. Nuno began his career as an analyst in the banking supervision department of Banco de Portugal.
