Guy Houston is an experienced communications and strategy advisor with close ties to WA Labor.

After working as a journalist at the ABC, he became an adviser to Labor premiers Geoff Gallop and Alan Carpenter. After Labor lost power in the 2008 WA election, he joined Chevron as a corporate communications and media adviser.

He moved back to a political role after Mark McGowan became leader of the parliamentary Labor party in 2012. He was Mr McGowan’s chief of staff until his resignation after the 2021 state election. More recently he has served as a strategic adviser to Australian Capital Equity.
