Don Pyke was an Australian rules footballer, and the first player in the Australian Football League born in the US. He played more games and kicked more goals than any other American-born player in the history of the league with 132 games and 70 goals.
Mr Pyke played for the West Coast Eagles from 1989 to 1996, during which he won 2 premiership titles in 1992 & 1994 and was named Club Champion in 1993. He was inducted to the West Coast Eagles club’s Hall of Fame, awarded Life Membership in 2003, and will become its chief executive in mid-January 2024.
Prior to taking up a management role at West Coast Eagles, Mr Pyke was an assistant coach at the Sydney Swans and a senior coach of the Adelaide Football Club.
