
David McLauchlan spent nearly 11 years at Microsoft Corporation before leaving in 2011 to co-found Buddy Platform Inc. While at Microsoft, he led business development for Microsoft's Zune hardware business, spent many years in Microsoft's Windows division, and served in the server & tools division where he worked on the Visual C++ product.
He also has considerable international business development experience, having closed inbound and outbound licensing deals for Microsoft with global partners and customers in the consumer, enterprise, B2B and component industries. Mr McLauchlan has also represented Microsoft in several international standards setting organisations.
Mr McLauchlan is the co-founder of TVinteract LLC which developed software for on-air TV talent to curate and display social media in real-time, and was acquired in 2014. Prior to moving to the US, he was a management consultant at PwC in Melbourne and a professional pianist in Adelaide.
He was a technology partner network advisor for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for over three years, and is a mentor for the Australian incubator Innovyz START and an advisor to Melbourne-based Bluedot Innovation and Washington DC-based Manalto.
