Mehan recruited to Jupiter Mines
Darren Walsh has over 20 years of experience in government relations, environmental impact assessment and environmental management, and particular emphasis on the land development and mining sectors. He also has a comprehensive knowledge of all key areas of environmental consulting services, provides strategic advice and support across a range of projects, and has expertise in the negotiation of environmental approvals.
Mr Walsh joined Strategen Environmental as chief executive in May 2011 and became executive director of Strategen-JBS&G in 2019 when the company merged with JBS&G Australia.
Prior to Strategen, Mr Walsh was national general manager, residential communities and deputy managing director for Satterley Property Group where he was responsible for government relations, project approvals and project delivery across metropolitan Perth, South West WA and the Pilbara, along with Northern Queensland and Melbourne operations. He was a former independent appeals convenor to the Minister for the Environment and facilitated approval outcomes for major resource and development projects across Western Australia. He was also planning and assessment manager at the Department of Environmental Protection where he managed assessments of planning schemes and amendments, subdivision and infrastructure proposals and strategic planning projects.

Environmental consultancy Strategen has appointed general manager and senior principal Tim Bowra as executive director on the board.
Western Australian environmental services group Strategen is set to merge with national firm JBS&G Australia, creating a 200-strong consultancy with offices in five Australian states.
The environmental consulting sector is an effective leading indicator of WA’s economic performance, and industry leaders are noticing a big improvement.
