The state government has formally dissolved the Shire of Carnarvon council and appointed Martin Aldridge as commissioner, following the exit of most of the shire's councillors.
Carnarvon stalwart Burke Maslen will become the next chair of the Gascoyne Development Commission (GDC), leading the committee's economic and social growth endeavours.
