Brian Pontifex

Chief of Staff to the Chief Executive / Rio Tinto

Brain Pontifex is a lawyer turned corporate affairs and government relations executive.

His past roles include serving as chief of staff to Premier Colin Barnett and as Australian ambassador to the OECD.

He has held roles with Woodside Energy and, since 2021, with Rio Tinto in Canberra and London.

Mr Pontifex was awarded a Bachelor of Laws from Australian National University in 1994 and a Master of International Law from the University of Edinburgh in 2005.
