Alistair Cowden
Dr Alistair Cowden has degrees in Geology from the universities of London and Edinburgh and is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, The Australian Institute of Geoscientists, and the Australian
Institute of Company Directors.
He spent over 38 years in the Australian mining industry, initially with major companies and for 17 years with junior companies. Dr Cowden also spent six years with WMC at Kambalda in both nickel and gold.
He was the founding chair of Vulcan Resources (delisted in February 2010 after merger) and subsequently became managing director until the merger with Altona Mining.
