Iluka focuses on growth opportunities
Perth-based mineral sands producer Iluka Resources has created a new senior executive role to focus on two growth opportunities involving new technology in the UK and Brazil.
Alan Tate has over 25 years of experience as a commercial & finance leader, including over 15 years in the mining and energy industry. He has held executive roles providing strategic, commercial, and financial leadership to a variety of international and ASX 100 companies.
Mr Tate was a senior management personnel at Iluka Resources. Prior to joining Iluka in 2008, he was chief financial officer of Jabiru Metals. Mr Tate has also held senior planning, finance and accounting roles with BHP Billiton and WMC Resources. He commenced his career with KPMG Peat Marwick.
Mr Tate is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

BGC Australia has appointed three high profile independent non-executive directors to help advise the family-owned business empire as it enters a global sale process.
BGC Australia has deferred indefinitely the sale of its core building materials and construction business because of weak market conditions but is pressing ahead with the sale of its contracting business and property assets.
BGC Australia has appointed international building industry veteran Daniel Cooper as its new chief executive, with Alan Tate to transition back to the role of chief financial officer after several months at the helm of the construction and contracting giant.
A broad suite of asset sales is high on Daniel Cooper’s agenda, but radically changing the way BGC operates is not on the priority list for the company’s new chief executive.
