Transport investment is budgeted to be $11.7 billion through to 2024, but not all proposals offer obvious value.
Georgiou is a national building construction, engineering and property development company specialising in earthworks, roads and bridges, structural concrete, water infrastructure, precast, non-process infrastructure, marine and port infrastructure, building construction, camp accommodation and villages, and land development.
Once known as Direct Drainage, it expanded in 1991 with the acquisition of Roadpave and Geocrete, and became Georgiou Group in 1998.
Georgiou Group was acquired by Austrian company STRABAG in early 2025.
